My name is Roger Carreras and I’m captain the of a basketball team. The name of that basketball team is U.E. Gaudí. I enjoy a lot when I practice this sport because it’s my hobby and it makes me feel good. I love it!
I started to play basketball when I was seven years old. I think that I’ve improved a lot my level since the beginning, but I have to improve it more! I always have time to play basketball. I play it to practice and have a good time. In this sport there isn’t anything that I don’t like me because I enjoy it a lot. My heart tells me that I have to play to be happy. This is my conclusion of my favourite sport.

Halloween in the US
Annie made a presentation of PowerPoint like Victoria. She presents it in class and she explains us a little bit of how she celebrates Halloween. She shows us two pumpkins and we were had to say which of two was her pumpkin. All the class knew what her pumpkin was. Oriol was so surprised! We didn’t know what was it but, all class by intuition knew it. She explains to us the famous history of Jack-o-Lantern. After this, she prepared a funny game. This consist that all thirty-one people in class have a character. There were three types of characters: The detectives, the murderers and the averages people. The murderers were Marc Castelló and Leo, the detectives I don’t remember very well, but I think were Maialen and Marc Niubó. Then the averages people were the rest of the class. We can play and were a funny game. More or less, Annie and Victoria celebrate Halloween equally with their pumpkins and all this terror things.
A perfect family
I think my idea for a perfect family is to have biologic father and mother. For me, a perfect family is to have always the same parents, a brother or sister that wants to help you in difficult times and a nice grandparents. Also we have to include the uncles and aunts in a perfect family to be nicer. Other type of families aren’t good for me because the sons have had to have a good education. The special families, I think, they’ll never be happy because a person never forgets her real parents.
What do you remember about Victoria’s and Annie’s family?
I remember that we did a writing activity for Victoria’s family. For Annie we made a “geonogial tree”. Annie has two siblings more and her mum has two siblings too. Some names of her family were Christopher, Bruce, Laura…About Victoria’s family I remember it was so complicated to understand all her family because there were a lot of couples in love by the second time. Also, I remember that her family were split a lot of places in the world.

The biggest change in my life is my physical condition. I see this because five years ago, I was a little bit flat, but only a little bit and now I’m very slim. I like myself. In general, this change is because I play basketball and I’m always doing something. About changes in my hobbies, five years ago I was playing in C.B. Grup Barna and now I’m playing in U.E. Gaudí. This is not the general change but one of all. The most important change in my life is that now I enjoy a lot playing basketball. I think five years ago, playing basketball was a distraction and now is one of the most important things. Five years ago, I wasn’t went watching basketball matches and now I’ll go every weekend. The rest of my hobbies haven’t changed, I always like this.

Victoria's Halloween
Victoria made a presentation of PowerPoint and she presents it in the middle of the class because the activity consists of knowing how English/Irish people celebrate Halloween. I remember she showed us in the PowerPoint some type of typical Halloween food. She tells us about the “barm brack”, this was a type of “cake” with “raisins” I think. Also she shows us a picture of “colcannon”. This was like a stew of vegetables but just with cauliflower and something else. They use special water called “holy water (for animals)”. As an appetizer they eat toffee apples, they are apples normally with toffee on them.
They celebrate Halloween the night of 31st of October to 1st of November. The origin of this celebration is from Ireland, previously, the Celts. They invented Bonfires. Also they were scaring people in the street. The pumpkins are big and they are put outside houses. People, that night, dress up as a terrible thing, monster or character, something but always scary. Victoria was disguised as a devil and spy girl. She thinks it is good to have a party and to have a good time. Puring this period of the year kids play trick or treating and they are carving and scooping out the pumpkin. Also they make Jack-o-lanterns; there are pumpkins without anything inside except a lantern. There is a pumpkin with a lantern inside.

My favourite sport is basketball. I’ve been practicing since 2002. I started playing at the age of seven. I think it’s an interesting sport and so exciting. I practice this sport because I like it and it makes me feel good.
My basketball team is U.E. Gaudí. I’m in a funny and good team because all are friends. I’m so happy too because I’m the captain of the team. This sport has a lot of levels and categories and I’m playing in “Cadet” of 1st year. I’m in the middle. Practice basketball every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays. To know how to play and do it well, you have to practice a lot. In basketball, you play at least with twelve people, but only five can play. The positions are: “point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward and center”. I’m the point guard from the team and I’m very happy to have this position because it is the way that I like playing.
